Hi everyone, 

Ok, so I know that the headline may not mean much to you but please bear with me for a few minutes as if you are, have been, or are thinking of becoming a client of ours, then there is a change happening within the industry that will almost certainly prove to be of relevance to you either now or in the future.

Let’s face it, amongst the general population my profession is generally rated within the top 5 most hated professions out there along with politicians, bankers, the tax man and Satan himself! I’d argue it’s a harsh generalisation but hey, like Satan we’ve definitely got thick skin!

One reason for this amongst others might be that unlike buying a car, you can’t ‘test drive’ three or four agents and decide which one you like the best. Come to think of it, make that list a Top 6.

The good news for consumers is that, the leading property portal in the UK have just conducted the largest ever estate agent mystery shop which has involved all agents nationally being contacted up to 9 times each as well as a range of other marketing and performance figures having been monitored.

Off the back of the mystery shop, the EA Masters award ceremony has been created in order to reward the top 20% of best performers but more importantly they will earn a place in the ‘Best Estate Agent Guide 2018’, a new reference point for customers when deciding which agent to choose ‘before’ they give the go ahead.

Given the scale of the mystery shop, this is set to become the most prestigious and recognised awards within the industry and I am therefore delighted to let you know that we recently received our invite to attend the awards in London taking place at the end of this month.

So, I’ve dusted off the dinner jacket and plan to have a small glass of bubbly or two in anticipation of our entry into this year’s guide.

More importantly, I will take a small moment to have a look back at where we’ve come as a business since opening in my Father’s annex back in 2010. As our team has grown, I’ve certainly learnt that business is rarely perfect and it can be incredibly challenging at times (especially in this industry), but whilst we’re certainly not at a point where we can rest on our laurels, it is nice to get a little recognition of the progress all of us have made.

To finish, I’d like to say a big Thank You to our ever evolving team and of course to all of our loyal customers for their continued support. Starting to sound like my speech at the awards!
